A Visitor / Tourist Visa, also known as a Temporary Resident Visa, allows eligible foreign nationals to visit Canada temporarily for tourism, family visits, or other short-term purposes. Government fees are separate from the legal fee. The Temporary Resident Visa government fee is generally $100 per person, with a family maximum of $500 where 5 or more family members apply together at the same time and place. Biometrics are generally $85 per person, with a family maximum of $170. Visa-exempt air travellers may need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) instead of a Temporary Resident Visa.
