Child / Other Relative Sponsorship
Family class sponsorship extends beyond spouses and parents to include dependent children and, in limited circumstances, other relatives. This service covers three family class sponsorship streams:
**Dependent Child:** A Canadian citizen or permanent resident may sponsor their dependent child (under 22 and not a spouse or common-law partner, or 22+ if financially dependent due to a physical or mental condition). Government fee: $170 per child.
**Relative Under 22 (not a dependent child):** Under the "last remaining relative" provision, a sponsor who has no other eligible relatives in Canada may sponsor one relative. This covers relatives under 22 who do not qualify as a dependent child. Government fee: $745.
**Relative 22 or Older:** Covers the same last-remaining-relative provision for a relative aged 22 or older. Government fee: $1,205. If the relative's spouse or partner is also being sponsored, an additional $1,210 in government fees applies; each dependent child of the relative adds $175 in government fees.
The flat legal fee is $4,000 + HST for all three streams.

- •Government fees and third-party costs (medical exam, police certificates, translations) are the client's responsibility and are not included in the flat legal fee.
- •Approval is not guaranteed. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada makes all final decisions.
