Add Spouse / Common-Law Partner to PR Application
When applying for Canadian permanent residence, a principal applicant may include their spouse or common-law partner as an accompanying family member. Including a partner in the PR application ensures they receive permanent residence at the same time as the principal applicant and avoids the need for a separate sponsorship or immigration application later.
This $1,000 + HST service covers the additional legal work required to prepare the partner's portion of the PR application — including the partner's IMM forms, relationship documentation, and any additional supporting evidence of the conjugal or common-law relationship. It is an add-on to the primary PR application service and does not include the primary applicant's application.
Government fees for the accompanying partner depend on the immigration stream. In economic PR applications (Express Entry, PNP, caregiver, SUV, self-employed), the fee is $1,525 per adult. In family class or other streams where a different fee schedule applies, the fee may be $1,210. The applicable fee is confirmed at intake.
